Most believed the Dallas Cowboys would have announced by now they were moving on from Jason Garrett, but it hasn't happened and it has made some wonder if he will have some type of role with the team next season.

All the talk surrounding the Cowboys heading into the season was Garrett needing a deep run into the playoffs to save his job. Garrett didn't deliver on those expectations with the team, not even making it into the playoffs.

Garrett and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones are expected to meet Thursday, which is the third time since the Cowboys' season ended that the two sides have met. According to Ed Werder of ESPN, the continued meetings have made some wonder if Garrett will have a role with the team next season, either as a head coach or some other type of role.

It's still hard to imagine that the Cowboys are going to bring back Garrett to be the head coach, but with every passing day that the Cowboys don't announce they are moving on, it's becoming more of a possibility.

If the Cowboys did decide to bring Garrett back, but not as the head coach, it probably would have to be in the front office. Putting Garrett as a position coach or coordinator when he used to be the head coach would not work.

Garrett and Jones do have a very good relationship, so it might make a lot of sense for him to be a personal assistant to Jones doing different jobs around the team.
