After narrowly missing out on the Dallas Cowboys Week 8 win against the Minnesota Vikings, it appears Dak Prescott is back in the team's plans this Sunday. Head coach Mike McCarthy revealed that Prescott is expected to practice and play this week after nursing a calf injury:
Prescott's backup, Cooper Rush, absolutely shined for the Cowboys last weekend in his first NFL start. The rookie completed 24 of 40 passes for 325 yards and two touchdowns in a 20-16 victory. Prescott would be pleased to know he has a solid option behind him.
Dak hurt his calf late in Dallas' Week 6 win over the New England Patriots but got a chance to rest due to a bye in Week 7. He was very close to potentially suiting up in Minny, but as a precautionary, the Cowboys decided to give him more time to recover.
The 28-year-old has been absolutely terrific for Dallas this season and is putting up MVP-type numbers. He's posted a 73.1 completion percentage and thrown for 16 touchdowns and over 1,800 yards. The Cowboys are also rolling, winning six in a row since their season opener loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Dallas takes on the Denver Broncos on Sunday and all signs point to Dak Prescott running the offense.
