Dallas Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence isn't happy with Madden 20 rating and has called for fans to boycott the game. Lawrence was given an 89 rating by Madden which ties him for the sixth-best rating among defensive ends. Lawrence racked up  14.5 sacks in 2017 and 10.5 last season and clearly feels that was good enough to get more respect from the game.

Lawrence took to Twitter to voice his displeasure and called for fans of the Cowboys to have a Madden strike.

“Hold up, [EA Sports],” Lawrence tweeted. “[You’re] not just going to disrespeck me like that with an 89 and get away with it. PUT. SOME. RESPECK. ON. MY. NAME. UNTIL THEN COWBOYS NATION IS ON MADDEN STRIKE! RT @dallascowboys Nation show em we ain’t playin bih.”

Lawrence is clearly upset with his rating, but he isn't the first player to voice his displeasure. It seems most players who don't receive a 99 feel like they were cheated by the game and that they got the rating wrong.

Many consider Lawrence to be one of the best on the Cowboys team but if you go by his Madden rating he is sixth best. Zack Martin (96), Ezekiel Elliott (94), Travis Frederick (94), Tyron Smith (94) and Byron Jones (91) all came in before Lawrence.

The good news for Lawrence is no one really cares about Madden ratings besides the players and as long as he has another big year on the field. The hope is that he can at least reach his sack rate from last year, and if he surpasses it maybe he will have a higher rating next year.
