Dez Bryant last played a game during the 2017 season with the Dallas Cowboys, but defensive standout DeMarcus Lawrence would welcome him back on the team.

Lawrence sat down for a question and answer with Blake Schuster of Bleacher Report and talked about many topics ranging from how he got his nickname, to how the team can improve next season.

Bryant is only 31 years old, and Lawrence thinks the team should give him another shot, just to see how he could help the team.

“If 88, the X factor, wants a shot we gotta give him a shot. Cowboys are home to Dez and he’s always accepted in my book.”

Lawrence was asked how thought the team could improve this offseason, and he went back to Bryant, saying he thought he could improve the team.

“I’d say bring Dez Bryant back. 88 is always welcome here.”

During the 2017 season, Bryant played in all 16 games catching 69 passes for 838 yards and six touchdowns. Bryant looked like he was getting another shot during the 2018 season with the New Orleans Saints, but two days after signing he tore his Achilles tendon.

The Cowboys have a lot of question marks surrounding the wide receivers starting with Amari Cooper and if the team will sign a long-term extension with him.

Even if the team does bring him back, veteran wideout depth is a great thing, and the team should take a look. What's the worst thing that could happen? The team brings him in for a workout and they find out he's not healthy to play. They could find out he is a missing piece for the offense.
