The Dallas Cowboys’ triumvirate of Ezekiel Elliott, Dak Prescott, and Dez Bryant is in danger of missing Elliott because of a suspension, but there could be some concern that Bryant could be joining the running back on the inactive list for Week 9’s matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.

According to a report by Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk, Dez Bryant was put on the injury report by the Cowboys Wednesday after being a limited participant in practice due to a knee issue. This seems like a pretty big deal, especially due to the fact that the Philadelphia Eagles are in a great position to run away with the division.

To put it more bluntly: Dallas can't really afford any more iffy games, even if the iffiness comes by way of an depleted roster.

Nevertheless, this may come as little to no surprise to people familiar with Bryant’s perennial knee issues.

Bryant has battled numerous knee injuries in his career and the Cowboys could merely be observing extra precaution in making sure that the wide receiver will be 100 percent when they face the Chiefs this coming Sunday.

The receiver didn’t impress much in Week 8’s 33-18 win over the Washington Redskins, as he only had 39 receiving yards on four catches, but he remains the best weapon downfield for Prescott. Bryant has 17 more targets this season than any other Cowboys receivers. He also tops the team in receiving yards (366) and touchdown grabs (4).

In the instance that Bryant can’t give it a go Sunday, Prescott will be left with a receiving corps likely to be led by tight end Jason Witten and wideout Terrance Williams.
