The Dallas Cowboys are back above .500 after winning over the Philadelphia Eagles in dominant fashion. Ezekiel Elliott and the Cowboys had a fantastic overall performance as they stopped the Eagles in their tracks. Understandably, Doug Pederson was not pleased with how the game went.

After all, he went on air before the game and declared the team was going to win the game. USA Today recorded his prediction of how the game will go:

“We're going down to Dallas, and our guys are gonna be ready to play. And we're gonna win that football game, and when we do, we're in first place in the NFC East.”

His declaration obviously didn't age well as the Cowboys finished with a bang in front of their home fans. Zeke, one of the league's highest-paid running backs, went off on Pederson and fired a memorable soundbite to celebrate this win.

Per Pro Football Talk's Charean Williams:

“We don’t need inspiration from him to go out there and play hard,” Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott said. “This rivalry is enough. Honestly, we don’t give a f— what Doug Pederson says.”

Elliott's performance backed up his strong words. He finished with 111 rushing yards and a touchdown on 22 rushing attempts. Dak Prescott was also superb in the pocket, completing 21 passes for 239 yards and a passing touchdown.

The Cowboys have a shot at starting a small run when they face the New York Giants in Week 9. Meanwhile, the Eagles will be nursing their wounds as they try to bounce back against the Buffalo Bills.
