Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott wants a new contract, but that won't stop him from showing his dedication to the team. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Elliott will show up for the Cowboys' opening offseason workouts.

Elliott is entering the final year of his rookie deal and is scheduled to make $3.9 million in 2019. Dallas does not seem to be in any rush to extend the star halfback, and the Cowboys can still exercise their fifth-year option on him and bring him back through 2020.

However, such a process likely won't make Elliott all that happy, even if he seems perfectly content for now.

The 23-year-old is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he racked up a league-leading 1,434 yards and six touchdowns on the ground, averaging 4.7 yards per carry. In addition, he hauled in 77 receptions for 567 yards and three scores en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.

Elliott, who played his collegiate football at Ohio State University, was originally selected by the Cowboys with the fourth overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft.

He had a monster rookie year, pacing the NFL with 1,631 rushing yards and 15 scores, registering 5.1 yards per attempt. He also caught 32 passes for 363 yards while reaching the end zone once. As a result of his production, Elliott made the Pro Bowl and earned a First-Team All-Pro selection.

The St. Louis native then played in just 10 games in 2017 due to a six-game suspension and finished with 983 yards and seven touchdowns while snaring 26 balls for 269 yards and a couple of scores.
