Last week, the Dallas Cowboys finally made a decision on what they wanted to do with veteran wide receiver Dez Bryant. The team decided to part ways with Bryant after eight seasons which resulted in the wideout pointing the finger at Jason Garrett and his coaching staff for how things went down in Dallas.

With the dust settling following Bryant's release, Garrett has addressed Bryant's departure and how it was a tough decision to make for the storied franchise to part ways with the star receiver, via ESPN's Todd Archer.

“It's a challenging situation. A lot of different factors go into these kinds of decisions and again the guidepost for all of this is: What's in the best interest of the Dallas Cowboys? And that's why we made this decision. Wish Dez nothing but the best going forward. He's a special guy. I love him. I will always love him and the impact that he's made on this franchise has been significant.”

Bryant is now a free agent and publicly let it be known that he has revenge fueling him moving forward. Although potentially unlikely, Bryant hopes to sign with NFC East team in order to play the Cowboys twice a year.

It seems as though the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Redskins may not be options for Bryant, but signing with the New York Giants might not be out of the question. Fellow veteran Brandon Marshall isn't thrilled about the prospect of Bryant signing with New York for obvious reasons, but there's no guarantee the team won't part ways with Marshall before making a decision on whether to bring in the former Cowboys star.

As for Garrett, Dallas has brought in Deonte Thompson and Allen Hurns to help bolster the receiving corps moving forward. Garrett's squad is still expected to be a force to be reckoned with as Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott lead the charge offensively.
