While the Dallas Cowboys suffered another early exit in the playoffs, no one can deny the brilliant season defensive end Micah Parsons had with the team.

For his part, Parsons reminded everyone of that and the hard work he put in on Tuesday amid the increasing criticisms on the Cowboys.

The Cowboys were largely expected to come out of the Wild Card round unscathed after their 12-5 season that put them atop the NFC East. However, the San Francisco 49ers had other plans for them and sent the Dallas franchise vacationing early.

San Francisco jumped to a 17-6 first-half lead and never looked back, stopping a fiery Cowboys comeback late in the second half.

Both the Cowboys' offense and defense were criticized for the defeat, especially after they allowed to get Jimmy Garoppolo and the Niners hitting their stride offensively early without a proper counterattack. In the end, their late-game efforts were too little, too late to stage a comeback.

However, despite the defeat, it is safe to say that Micah Parsons was brilliant for much of the game and really stood out with his defense–like he did all season long.

The Cowboys certainly found a gem in Micah Parsons, and he could very well be the cornerstone of their defense for years to come. The Wild Card defeat might not be what they expected, but it is another invaluable experience for their rookie to develop into a superstar everyone projects him to be.
