The Dallas Cowboys suffered their latest devastating loss on Thursday night, falling to the Chicago Bears by a score of 31-24 in their Week 14 tilt.

Afterward, Hall-of-Fame wide receiver and former Cowboy Michael Irvin reacted to the defeat.

“It was just a horrible performance by the Dallas Cowboys,” said Irvin, according to Stefan Stevenson of The Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “It's just bad right now. That team is just playing bad.”

That's putting it lightly.

Since beginning the season 3-0, the Cowboys have gone just 3-7 and have now lost three games in a row. They are still in first place in the NFC East, but that is primarily due to the ineptitude of the Philadelphia Eagles, who are currently just 5-7.

Dallas was considered a darkhorse Super Bowl contender by some entering 2019, and the first three weeks of the season appeared to verify that, but since then, head coach Jason Garrett has seemed to lose complete control of the team, and the Cowboys are spiraling out of control.

The problem is that things don't get much easier for Dallas going forward, either.

Next week, the Cowboys will host the Los Angeles Rams, the team that knocked them out of the playoffs last year. Then, the following week, Dallas will head on the road for a divisional showdown with the Eagles, a game that could ultimately decide who wins the NFC East.

The Cowboys will then conclude their regular season by playing host to the Washington Redskins on Dec. 29.

Dallas is aiming to win back-to-back division titles for the first time since 1996.
