The Dallas Cowboys are still trying to get Dak Prescott back at practice after he suffered yet another injury during training camp. After Prescott’s season ended early, the Cowboys are holding their breath regarding the status of their franchise quarterback.
According to Jon Machota of The Athletic, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy isn’t rushing Dak back at all as he recovers from yet another injury.
Mike McCarthy: “There’s no urgency from my perspective to see Dak play (Saturday). This is more about not creating a setback possibility. His volume of throwing leading up to that point, he’s probably in midseason form just from the amount of work he put in over the summer.”

McCarthy and the Cowboys are taking it easy with Dak, and rightfully so. While they would love for him to get some preseason game action in, they feel confident with where he’s headed. Prescott has put in a ton of work in the offseason and wants to do whatever it takes to get them back to the playoffs and compete in the NFC East.
After he played just five games last year, the Cowboys had a revolving door at the quarterback position and are eagerly waiting for the return of their star signal-caller. But, it might not be until the preseason is over.
Either way, this should be good news overall for the Cowboys, and the return of Dak will be a huge boost to the entire offense, and the entire team, for that matter.
