The Dallas Cowboys have their star quarterback in Dak Prescott finally returning, but now they face another hurdle with guard Zack Martin reportedly testing positive for COVID-19

NFL insider Ian Rapoport confirms the news coming from Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy himself.

Zack Martin has been a force for the Cowboys throughout his seven-year NFL career, garnering six Pro Bowl and four All-Pro accolades. He would have probably made it a perfect seven Pro Bowl selections had it not been such a tumultuous season for Dallas last year.

Now Dak Prescott and the Cowboys lose a pivotal piece of their O-line protection as they head into their Week 1 showdown with Tom Brady and the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Zack Martin's absence will be filled by Connor McGovern, as told by Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy.

Via Cowboys reporter for the Dallas Morning News Michael Gehlken:

“He’ll definitely be ready for this opportunity. …I like the way Connor goes about his business.” McCarthy said Martin is “frustrated, obviously. But this is the world we live in.”

With the Zack Martin being officially ruled out, he becomes the first COVID-19 gridiron casualty forced to miss action due to the virus.
