Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard is looking forward to taking another step in his music career as he recently pitched his name for a possible collaboration with rapper Ty Dolla $ign on Twitter. The 30-year-old Lillard is known for moonlighting as a hip-hop artist and rapper by the name of Dame D.O.L.L.A.

The Oakland native first made noise in the music industry when he started a social media trend called “Four Bar Friday” in which he, and anyone who chooses to participate, submit a video of themselves rapping a small verse on Instagram every Friday with the hashtag #4BarFriday.

Damian Lillard then took his craft more seriously when he released his first full length single, “Soldier in the Game”, via the online music streaming site SoundCloud back in July 2015. He followed it up as he released his debut album “The Letter O” in October of 2016.

His second album entitled “Confirmed” was released almost a year after followed by his third and biggest album to date, Big D.O.L.L.A. which featured well-known guests namely Lil Wayne, Mozzy, and Jeremih. The five-time All-Star now has his own record label, Front Page Music, which includes rising artist Brookfield Duece in its roster.

On the other hand, singer-songwriter Ty Dolla $ign has been in the music scene since 2006. The California native is known for his songs “Paranoid”, “Or Nah”, and “Blasé;” as well as his writing contributions to “Loyal” by Chris Brown and “FourFiveSeconds” by Rihanna.

“Psycho” by Post Malone remains to be one of his most successful pieces which was his first track as a lead artist or featured artist to hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

With the 2020-2021 NBA season already a couple of months away, it remains to be seen if fans will indeed be treated to a song collaboration between the two personalities in the near future.
