D'Angelo Russell entered the NBA in 2015. Since then, he's played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Brooklyn Nets, Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves and made $50,302,978 through his NBA contracts, per Spotrac.

The Lakers selected Russell with the second overall pick in the 2015 draft out of Ohio State. The lefty averaged 13.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists as a rookie while making $5,103,120. Russell signed a two-year, $10.4 million rookie contract with the Lakers.

During his second season in the NBA, D'Angelo Russell increased his scoring average from 13.2 to 15.6. He made $5,332,800 and showed he had scoring skills.

However, Magic Johnson was looking for a leader at the point guard position and didn't think D'Lo fit that bill for the Purple and Gold, especially after the whole Nick Young incident.

The Lakers traded Russell to the Nets in the summer of 2017. D'Angelo made $5,562,360 in his first season with the Nets and $7,019,698 in 2018-19.

Russell became an All-Star with the Nets last season by averaging 21.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 7.0 assists. He matured on and off the court and established himself as one of the best young point guards in the NBA.

D'Angelo Russell became a restricted free agent in the summer of 2019. He wanted to re-sign with the Nets. However, Brooklyn had different ideas. The franchise was in the process of signing Kyrie Irving, which made Russell expendable. The Nets were also trying to sign two-time Finals MVP Kevin Durant.

In the end, the Warriors and Nets agreed to a sign-and-trade deal. Durant landed with the Nets and Russell wound up with the Warriors. D'Lo signed a four-year, $117 million contract as part of the sign-and-trade deal. He was looking forward to playing with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, but the Warriors sort of knew the Russell experience in Golden State was going to be short-lived from day 1.

At the 2020 trade deadline, the Warriors traded D'Angelo Russell to the Timberwolves for Andrew Wiggins. D'Lo is set to make $28,649,250 next season with the Timberwolves, who are building the franchise around Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns.
