Former Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware was once one of the most feared edge rushers in the NFL. Now it seems he is ready to pass on that prowess to the next generation.

Ware spent some time with the Cowboys during one of their practices last season. It was there that he realized how much wisdom he could impart on defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli's young pass rushers, according to ESPN's Todd Archer:

“He loved it because he knows I’m a technician and that’s what he predicates his game off of,” Ware said. “It’s about technique, knowing the strategy and that’s what I do very well and he enjoyed when I was out there.”

Ware added that although he has gotten offers about potentially returning to the game, he would much rather return as a potential coach.

“I wouldn’t want to get back on the field, but in talking to some of the guys and the coaches I’m really trying to get back into mentoring the guys and maybe doing some pass-rush stuff with the guys throughout the week and doing some broadcasting stuff,” said Ware, whose contract with NFL Network expires in March. “I think it will be a great opportunity.”

Ware would make an obvious fit as a possible positions coach with the Cowboys. He spent the prime year of his career in Dallas becoming the franchise's all-time leader in sacks. He registered 117 sacks in nine seasons with the Cowboys before going on to win a Super Bowl with the Broncos.

That said, it would be wise for team owner Jerry Jones to start considering a possible position for Ware given his interest in coaching. If he doesn't, there very well could be another team that is willing to.
