One of the biggest themes entering the 2016-17 NBA season is the return of departed stars to their old home markets.

When Kevin Durant travels with the Golden State Warriors to Oklahoma City to play the Thunder, it will be can't-miss television. Dwyane Wade‘s return to South Beach to play the Miami Heat promises to be quite the spectacle as well.

Then, there's Derrick Rose and the New York Knicks taking on the Bulls at the United Center in Chicago.

Rose, a Chicago-native, spent his entire NBA career with the Bulls before being shipped to NYC this summer. He admitted to being hurt by the trade, but most of his focus in interviews has been on the Knicks' “super team.”

The 2010-11 MVP recently sat down with Slam Online, covering an array of topics ranging from his thoughts on rappers to playing in an organization run by Phil Jackson.

Rose was also asked to talk about what he anticipates from his first game back in the Windy City. From Slam:

SLAM: Have you thought of what your emotions will be like when the team plays the Bulls on Nov. 4 and you’re in the United Center wearing blue and orange?

DR: No, I haven’t. Me and Jimmy [Butler] talked about it a little at the Dodgers game a couple of days ago, but we really ain’t get into detail about it. I haven’t really thought about it like that. Even when I play them, it’s not going to be a revenge-type game. I hate playing that way. That’s not the way that I’m used to playing, so when I go out there I’m just going to try and win that game.

Rose might be downplaying it now, but in the days leading up to that game, it's safe to assume that his emotions will be juiced up to the max.
