Take a look at the standings and the Phoenix Suns are way ahead of every team active in the playoffs right now. Their impressive dominance against the Denver Nuggets has afforded them enough time to rest, giving them an advantage of sorts. Of course, a big factor to their success in the postseason is their franchise player, Devin Booker.

After five years in the league, this is Booker’s first foray into the playoffs. And while other players have failed to meet expectations, the All-Star is exceeding them. With the Suns making their way to the Western Conference Finals, Devin Booker cards are being taken along for the ride. We take a look below at how the shooting guard’s on-court performance has made a good impact on his card value.

Booker and His First Playoff Experience

Believe it or not, this is Booker’s first taste of the postseason after playing in the NBA since 2015. So far, the Suns’ franchise player has not disappointed with his playoff debut.

In the first round where Phoenix faced off against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, Booker played like a true All-Star, especially on offense. He averaged 29.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, and five assists in six games. He also connected 48% from the field, 43% from beyond the arc, and 93% from the free throw line.

After eliminating the Purple and Gold, Phoenix advanced to face Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets. While everyone expected this series to be a slugfest, Booker and the Suns decided to do away with them in the fastest time possible. With Chris Paul often taking over the offense, Booker played more of a supporting role to the Point God against Denver.

During the four-game sweep, Booker’s numbers were down from his performance against the Lakers. He would go on to average 25.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists while hitting 30% from downtown. Even though his long-range shots were less efficient in this series, Booker’s immense offensive skill, coupled with Paul’s leadership, was enough to help the Suns overcome Denver in four games.

With Phoenix headed to the Western Conference Finals to face either the Utah Jazz or Los Angeles Clippers, Booker’s contribution will be more important than ever. This is true, especially with Paul potentially sitting out the first few games because of the league’s health protocols. If he manages to lead the Suns to the promised land, Booker’s legacy in the NBA will be cemented.

The State of Devin Booker Rookie Cards In The Market

A lot of players have crashed and burn in the card market as the playoffs unfolded during the past month. Fortunately, Booker isn’t one of those guys right now.

At the start of April, his PSA 10 base Prizm rookie card went up to $1,100 and drastically dropped down to $645 late last month. Thanks to Booker’s stellar performance and the Suns advancing to the next round, that figure has rebounded up to $860.

If Phoenix goes all the way to the Finals, collectors can expect the demand for Devin Booker rookie cards to go through the roof. On the other hand, all bets are off if they don’t. Nonetheless, Booker’s impressive leap during the playoffs makes him a good player to invest in, no matter what happens to the Suns in the postseason.
