Dallas Mavericks point guard Devin Harris was unusually irate after catching an elbow in the face while defending shooting guard Jordan Crawford of the New Orleans Pelicans, immediately hitting the hardwood and getting whistled for a blocking foul.

Upon getting up and getting wind of the call, Harris walked over to sideline referee Ben Taylor, who didn't hesitate to eject him from the game after he got too close for comfort.

Harris' teammates along with referee Lauren Holtkamp had to restrain the 6-foot-3 guard before the situation escalated even more. Mavs coach Rick Carlisle got a technical for his trouble, along with his assistant Melvin Hunt — totaling four Dallas technical fouls along with the two Harris received prior to his ejection.

“I've never seen him that upset,” Carlisle told the Associated Press following the narrows 121-118 loss to the Pelicans.

The foul call was quite erroneous, as Harris stays in place and Crawford is the one who moves to initiate contact, perhaps even more asinine given that he extended his elbow unnaturally high for a triple threat position.

“He was getting hit in some picks and took some elbows and he kept getting the fouls,” Nowitzki said. “He just reacted — rightfully so.”
