The Seattle Seahawks have begun the 2019 season with two straight wins over AFC North opponents. While the team has won both games by a combined three points, D.K. Metcalf has looked like the perfect puzzle piece for their offense.

Throughout the draft process, Metcalf quickly became an internet sensation when a workout picture of his surfaced. In the picture, the rookie wideout stands out among the rest of the players in the picture as he appears to have zero-percent of bodyfat.

Along with the photo, the athletically gifted receiver also turned some heads at the NFL Combine with his 40-yard dash times. The Ole Miss product was able to show off his blazing speed at 6-foot-4, 225 pounds, by running the 40-yard dash in 4.33 seconds.

Despite his physique and NFL Combine results, many scouts and fans stated their opinion that Metcalf would be a ‘certified bust' in the NFL. Their opinions on Metcalf formed when the rookie receiver ran his three-cone drill in 7.38 seconds (slower than Tom Brady).

Nevertheless, the Seahawks took a chance on the talented pass-catcher in the second round of this year's draft. Since his arrival, Metcalf has formed a nice rapport with Russell Wilson as a deep threat in the offense.

To begin the season, the Seahawks took on the Cincinnati Bengals and all eyes were on Metcalf. The first-year wide receiver silenced his critics in Week 1 by hauling in four receptions for 89 yards. As a matter of fact, Metcalf led the team in both receptions and yards as the Seahawks defeated the Bengals 21-20.

Some of the critics may have thought it was an aberration but Metcalf proved in Week 2 that he is here to stay. On Sunday, the 21-year-old wideout was phenomenal again against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Despite some of the offense struggling, Metcalf helped the Seahawks take a two-score lead in the fourth quarter with a 28-yard touchdown catch. Altogether, Metcalf finished the game with three receptions for 61 yards and a touchdown.

Albeit it has only been two weeks, the people who believed that Metcalf wouldn't be a formidable NFL receiver should begin to write their apologies now.
