The Los Angeles Dodgers clearly have a knack for churning out starting pitching. Clayton Kershaw is currently injured and young phenom Dustin May is still recovering from Tommy John surgery, yet the rotation is seemingly deep as ever. Walker Buehler and Julio Urias are leading the charge while Tony Gonsolin has performed admirably this season. But veteran left-hander Tyler Anderson has been one of the greatest stories in baseball.

The left-hander was a decent pitcher before joining LA. But Anderson has looked like an All-Star since signing with the Dodgers. He has a sparkling 2.59 ERA and 0.95 WHIP to go along with an attention grabbing 7-0 win-loss record.

Anderson also extended his scoreless inning streak to 26 in the Dodgers 6-1 victory over the Mets on Friday. Manager Dave Roberts commented what has made Anderson so effective during his MLB leading scoreless streak.

“He was, once again, so consistent. He made pitches when he needed to and kept those guys off-balance.”

Dave Roberts also discussed the breakout performances of both Tyler Anderson and Tony Gonsolin.

“They both had different paths to get here this season. Tony was looked at as a fifth starter for us, and Tyler came in as a sixth starter, essentially. But both have pitched like top-end guys. I’d hate to imagine where we’d be without those two guys.”

Both Anderson and Gonsolin's strong seasons have been crucial for the Dodgers given Clayton Kershaw's injury.

The Dodgers will aim to clinch their current four game series against the Mets with a third consecutive win on Saturday.
