The Los Angeles Dodgers will continue their three-game series with the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday at the Great American Ballpark. We're here to share our MLB odds series, make a Dodgers-Reds prediction, and pick while showing you how to watch.

The Dodgers are one of the best teams in baseball and currently leading the National League West by a significant amount. Yet, they recently lost two of three games to the Arizona Diamondbacks at home and had a 4-3 homestand. The Dodgers will now engage in a rematch with the Reds after playing them last weekend.

The Reds are struggling, dealing with injuries and bad play. Also, they are coming off a series where they lost two of three to the San Diego Padres at Petco Park. The Reds are now in a homestand that includes the Dodgers and the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Dodgers won three of four from the Cincinnati Reds last weekend at home. Now, they hope to win in Cincinnati. The Reds took two of three at the Great American Ballpark last season. However, the Dodgers swept the Reds in 2022 and took two of three in 2021 and 2019. Both teams throw out one of their best pitchers on the mound.

Walker Buehler starts for the Dodgers. He is 1-1 with a 4.05 ERA. Amazingly, we finally saw the ace from two seasons ago as he tossed six shutout innings while allowing three hits and striking out seven for his first win since 2022. Buehler finally got it right after two rocky starts. Overall, he is 1-3 with a 3.22 ERA over six starts against the Reds.

Hunter Greene starts for the Reds. He is 2-2 with a 3.22 ERA. Recently, he went 6 1/3 innings while allowing two earned runs on four hits and striking out eight in a no-decision against the Dodgers. Greene has had two straight quality starts. Yet, he is also 0-2 with a 5.40 ERA over three starts against the boys in blue.

Why The Dodgers Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Dodgers have an explosive offense. Currently, they are fifth in batting average and third in on-base percentage. Los Angeles also ranks second in runs and third in home runs and slugging percentage.

Mookie Betts remains one of the best hitters in baseball. Also, he went 2 for 12 with a solo home run and two runs last weekend. Betts is 1 for 3 against Greene in his career. Meanwhile, Shohei Ohtani is probably the best pure hitter in baseball. Ohtani went 1 for 10 with one home run, two RBIs, and two runs last weekend. However, he is 0 for 2 against Greene.

Freddie Freeman continues to be one of the cleanest hitters in the game of baseball. Additionally, he went 3 for 9 with a double, an RBI, and four runs last weekend. Freeman is 2 for 9 with a home run and two RBIs against Greene. Likewise, Will Smith has emerged as a solid hitter. Smith went 1 for 7 with an RBI last weekend. Furthermore, he is 0 for 3 against Greene.

The Dodgers have a solid pitching staff. At the moment, they are sixth in team ERA. The bullpen has also improved. Significantly, they are fourth in team ERA.

The Dodgers will cover the spread if their bats can get to Greene early. Then, they need Buehler to replicate his performance from the last outing.

Why The Reds Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Reds have a terrible offense. Unfortunately, they are last in batting average and 28th in on-base percentage. Cincinnati also ranks 20th in runs, 22nd in home runs, and 27th in slugging percentage.

The Reds have dealt with numerous issues, including regression and injuries. Sadly, Christian Encarnacion-Strand has been out since the start of the month, while Matt McClain has not had a single at-bat this season.

Elly De La Cruz needs to take charge and be the guy that powers this offense. Yet, he went 0 for 13 against the Dodgers last weekend and is 0 for 3 against Buehler in his career. Spencer Steer needs to do more. Ultimately, he went 0 for 12 with a sacrifice fly and a bases-loaded walk for two RBIs last weekend and is 0 for 2 against Buehler.

Tyler Stephenson did well last weekend, going 6 for 12 with a home run, three RBIs, and one run against the Dodgers. Conversely, he is 0 for 5 against Buehler.

The Reds are mediocre on the mound. Ultimately, they are 13th in team ERA. Cincinnati also has an inconsistent bullpen. Overall, they are 17th in team ERA.

The Reds will cover the spread if they can make Buehler work for the outs. Next, they need Greene to avoid making mistakes down the middle of the plate.

Final Dodgers-Reds Prediction & Pick

The Dodgers lost two of three but still had some offense in these games. However, these teams combined for less than nine runs in two of three games last weekend. Couple that with the fact that both starting pitchers are solid means we might get a good pitching matchup. Overall, the Dodgers will likely hold the Cincinnati offense to fewer than three runs. But this is a dangerous hitter park. In fact, it's one of the best in the league. The Reds and their opponents have hit nine runs in four of the last seven home games. Right now, the Dodgers have a lot more going for them and will do enough to cover the spread on the road.
