Without any hesitation, Flores deflected and gave credit to his players for toughing out the win on Sunday. The win also holds more meaning for the first-year head coach of the Dolphins.
Brian Flores says he was presented a game ball in the locker room. As he walked off field he thought of his Mom, who passed in spring.

It goes without saying that this season has been a rough campaign for the Dolphins. Before the season began, everyone expected Miami to be one of the worst teams in the NFL. But no one envisioned them needing nine weeks to get their first tally in the win column.
With the win, the Cincinnati Bengals are now the only remaining team in the NFL to be winless. Flores can now breathe a sigh of relief knowing his team won't go 0-16 in his first season at the helm.
When Flores left the New England Patriots to join the Dolphins, there's no doubt that he knew he would have his hands full with trying to build a winning football team. Many have suggested that the Dolphins are ‘tanking' but the team didn't share that sentiment in Week 9.
The Dolphins were able to outscore New York 26-18 and were able to force a crucial turnover on Sam Darnold in the first half. From that moment on, Miami essentially controlled the game.
Throughout the entire game, even with a shorthanded roster, Miami kept fighting for all 60 minutes of their game against the Jets. Now, the Dolphins will shift their focus to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 10.
