Miami has a void to fill with Dwyane Wade hanging up the kicks a few weeks ago, and the Miami Dolphins latest draft pick Christian Wilkins wants to help try to fill that. Wilkins was a standout at Clemson and wants to be known for more than just what he does on the field.

“They’re not just getting a guy on the field who’s going to do his best as a player and be disruptive and do the things I need to do on the field,” Wilkins said of the Dolphins via The Palm Beach Post. “But I’m the kind of guy you want in your organization to make it a better place.”

Wilkins has high expectations for his time with the Dolphins saying he would like to have his name next to Jason Taylor and Dan Marino. He also thinks that he can be the new face of Miami and help replace what Wade left.

“You all just lost D-Wade, too, so Miami is going to need somebody to kind of help fill that void,” Wilkins said. “So hopefully I can work into that role and Miami will love me like they love D-Wade.”

Wilkins seems like a big personality doing a unique shoulder bump with Roger Goodell and from the looks of it he has no issue setting high expectations for himself. With this type of talk comes a lot of high expectations, especially in Miami and hopefully, he is ready for it. With this type of talk, he needs to come in and have an impact right away.
