The Miami Dolphins got some bad news on Friday after the announcement that running back Myles Gaskin had tested positive for COVID-19. Well, the Dolphins' running back situation somehow keeps getting worse after the latest update by NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero.

Yikes. So, both Myles Gaskin and backup running back Salvon Ahmed have tested positive for COVID-19. The Dolphins are luckily on a bye week, though this still isn't the way they wanted their week off to go.

Gaskin and Ahmed have accounted for 208 of the Dolphins' 311 carries and over half of the team's rushing yards. That is a tremendous blow to Miami's offense, with a divisional matchup against the New York Jets coming up in Week 15 off the bye week.

Gaskin and Ahmed should be considered questionable for that contest, even though there's ample time for the two to get back on the practice field. Behind Gaskin and Ahmed on Miami's depth chart are the likes of Phillip Lindsay, who is dealing with an ankle injury, and Patrick Laird, who is on injured reserve.

The Dolphins could be holding running back tryouts at the beginning of next week if Lindsay is still banged up and both Gaskin and Ahmed aren't close to returning.

Even while on a bye, the Dolphins running back situation continues to get worse.
