Somehow, someway, rumors have been swirling regarding the Miami Dolphins trading for future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady. It's unclear why these rumors spread, as Brady seems content to play with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Regardless, Miami head coach Mike McDaniel finally clears the air.
According to David Furones, McDaniel denies all Tom Brady trade rumors. He even goes as far as to say, “I think that's what you call fake news.” Finally, we don't have to listen to any more nonsense about the Dolphins making a ridiculous trade they likely can't even make, to begin with.
The Dolphins just acquired Tyreek Hill after dealing five draft picks to the Kansas City Chiefs. So, even if the Dolphins were interested in trading for Tom Brady, they don't even have the draft capital to get a deal done. For that reason, Miami will move on with Tua Tagovailoa leading the way, and Tom Brady will go destroy a putrid NFC South division.
It'll be interesting to see how the Dolphins' season plays out. They've made numerous big moves and the only real question mark on the roster is the quarterback position. Tagovailoa has shown progress through his two years in the league and now that he has a plethora of weapons around him, we should see the young quarterback take a big leap in development.
Keep an eye on the Dolphins, as they're shaping up to be a legitimate playoff contender this year. Unfortunately for them, the AFC is absolutely loaded with talent and it will be a tough journey with the Buffalo Bills in charge of the AFC East.
