New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick only had good words to say for Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa heading to their first matchup in Week 15 proceedings. The multi-titled tactician also praised the rookie as he has already shown flashes of potential to emerge as an elite dual-threat playmaker sooner rather than later.

“He gets rid of the ball very quickly, doesn't hold it much, sees coverage well, has taken good care of the ball, hasn't thrown the ball to the defense. He understands the pressure, the timing of routes, gets the ball out quickly, and has enough quickness in the pocket to make it difficult for the pass rush to get to him. He can run a little bit, but I would say he's more of a quicker guy in the pocket that's elusive and really wants to throw more than he wants to run,” Belichick said via ESPN.

Dating back to Week 1, the Patriots managed to snag a 21-11 victory against the Dolphins when the squad was still led by veteran gunslinger Ryan Fitzpatrick. However, the Patriots will be seeing an entirely new Dolphins squad that already owns an 8-5 playoff-bound record along with a new quarterback at the helm 14 weeks later.

Despite the new dynamics of their division rivals, the Patriots have the numbers on their side as they have already garnered significant success against opposing rookie quarterbacks as of late. Their most recent encounter was highlighted by a 45-0 demolition job in Week 13 dealt against the Los Angeles Chargers led by first-year gunslinger Justin Herbert.

With a 6-7 record, the Foxborough-based squad is currently seeing a small window of hope to be able to barge into the playoff picture. Scoring consecutive wins in their final three games of the season will be a must, which starts against the Dolphins in Week 15 action.
