The Miami Dolphins made a huge signing on Tuesday by agreeing to terms with OT Terron Armstead on a 5-year, $75 million dollar deal, per Adam Schefter. Offensive lineman signings tend to go under the radar but this is a potential franchise-changing transaction for Miami. It will allow quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to be protected for the long term which is of the utmost importance.

Adam Schefter helped to define Armstead’s true value after the move became official.

“The player many ranked as the No. 1 free agent this off-season is now off the board and protecting Tua Tagovailoa.”

Schefter and the rest of the NFL world believe this is a great signing for the Dolphins. Former NFL player and current member of ESPN Dan Orlovsky shared his reaction to the move.

“Reiterating

The Armstead signing is YUGE”

The Dolphins shook off a disappointing beginning to the 2021 season with a strong winning streak towards the end. They showed flashes of brilliance and could be a team on the rise this year. They already have had a nice offseason prior to the Armstead signing. But this could end up putting them over the top.

Tua Tagovailoa has the tools to be a complete quarterback between passing and running, and with proper protection might be able to emerge as a star in the NFL.

Terron Armstead has been one of the best offensive lineman in the game during his career and is well-deserving of this massive deal. The 30-year old will look to help the Miami Dolphins win in 2022.
