Could Tom Brady seriously bolt the New England Patriots for an AFC East division rival this offseason? Tom Curran of NBC Sports Boston seems to think so.

While being interviewed on The Rich Eisen Show, Curran said he feels that Brady could join the Miami Dolphins in 2020 just to stick it to the Patriots.

“What would be ideal? Honestly, Rich — knowing who he is, since he’s been in the public consciousness for 20 years and more? He wants to be able to prove something to somebody who thought that he couldn’t do something. That he was unable to continue at a level. And that’s why I keep coming back to the Miami Dolphins as a possibility,” Curran said.

Given Brady's mindset, that idea certainly makes sense, but of course, that's only if New England decides to let him walk to begin with.

Brady will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and he and the Pats recently reworked his deal so he cannot be franchise tagged by the club.

Still, it seems hard to fathom Brady playing in another uniform. He has been a member of the Patriots ever since being drafted by the club back in 2000 and has won six Super Bowls. Yes, he is 42 years old this season and has shown obvious signs of slowing down, but would Robert Kraft and Co. really let him finish out his career with a different team?

It remains to be seen, but Brady facing New England twice a year as a division foe would certainly make for great theater.
