The speculation around what the Philadelphia Eagles will do with Carson Wentz and Jalen Hurts got a little more confusing this week.

Louie DiBiase, the host of the daily Locked On Eagles podcast, is looking at coaching hires and has drawn some questions. If you pair that information with the lack of communication between the team and Jalen Hurts, it gets even more puzzling.

Dibiase: We kind of got a little more information today regarding who the Eagles hired as their quarterback coach. Maybe I am reading too much into it but, it made me think a little bit more about where the Eagles’ heads are at with what they are going to do with this quarterback situation.

Everyone can agree that when the Eagles hired Nick Sirianni, the former Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator, now is the head coach, he worked under Frank Reich who helped get that 2017 performance out of Carson Wentz. You thought to yourself, this move is all about fixing Carson Wentz. You all read the story by Jeff McLane with the Philadelphia Inquirer about how the Eagles have not even reached out to Jalen Hurts yet this offseason. That all told me that Wentz is the guy in 2021. That is the priority.

Then today, again take it for what you will. Maybe I am reading too much into this hire. The Eagles hired Florida offensive coordinator Brian Johnson to be the quarterback coach. Why it impacts Wentz and Hurts is because Johnson recruited Hurts out of high school. And here is the kicker, Johnson not only knew him in high school and tried to get him to come to his university but also, Bryan Johnson has known Jalen Hurts since he was four years old.
