Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Avonte Maddox tweeted out Friday that he is doing well after suffering a scary injury Thursday night against the Green Bay Packers that saw him get taken off the field on a stretcher.

Late in the 4th quarter, Maddox was taken out by his teammate Andrew Sendejo. He laid on the ground before being loaded on the stretcher and to the local hospital for observation.

After the game, the team announced he had all movement in all of his extremities and was released in time from the hospital to fly back with the team to Philadelphia. Maddox's teammates said that he was laughing while on the stretcher waiting to be taken off the field.

ā€œI was cracking jokes just to make him laugh,ā€ safety Malcolm Jenkins said via ESPN. ā€œHe laughed ā€” a lot, actually.

ā€œIt's a scary thing when it's one of your teammates ā€” especially somebody young like him, who's been playing really well for us. He was good. He was moving around, so that was a good sign.ā€

After Maddox went out it was Craig James who came in to replace him and Rodgers looked to attack him right away. Instead of the play resulting in a touchdown, James tipped the ball up and that allowed Nigel Bradham to come away with an interception and wrap up the Eagles win.

It's unclear if Maddox will miss anytime but the Eagles are really short-handed at cornerback even if he can play next Sunday at the New York Jets.
