The Philadelphia Eagles are still searching for its first win of the season against the Cincinnati Bengals. They might have to do so without tight end Dallas Goedert, who limped off the field and headed to the locker room with an apparent left foot injury, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The 25-year old tight end is questionable to return to the game, having just one reception and seven yards before leaving the field. Just after making his lone reception of the game late in the first quarter, Goedert was seen limping off the field, then had his left ankle examined, before leaving for the locker room. The Eagles and quarterback Carson Wentz will likely rely on tight ends Zach Ertz and Richard Rodgers in Goedert’s absence.
The tight end had a strong start to the season in Week 1 against the Washington Football Team, leading the Eagles in catches with eight and receiving yards with 101 to go with one touchdown. However, it wasn’t enough to prevent a 27-17 Philadelphia loss. Against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 2, Goedert was limited to four catches and 30 receiving yards in the Eagles’ 37-19 defeat.
Goedert, who was drafted by the Eagles in the second round with the 49th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, is coming off a strong sophomore year in 2019 where he saw action in 15 games, finishing with 58 receptions, 607 receiving yards, and five receiving touchdowns. This was an improvement from his rookie season, where he finished with 33 receptions, 334 receiving yards, and four receiving touchdowns in 16 games for the Eagles.
