Two weeks ago, the Philadelphia Eagles made the decision to bolster their defensive line with a trade for Pro Bowl Michael Bennett from the Seattle Seahawks. He is in position to be a key part of their promising defensive front next season.

However, it appears this could potentially be put on hold for Bennett, as he is involved in some legal action after being indicted by the Harris County Grand Jury for a felony charge for injuring a 66-year-old paraplegic woman who was working at NRG Stadium during Super Bowl LI, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

Bennett was in attendance at the game to watch his brother, Martellus, who was a member of the New England Patriots. Following the game, the 32-year-old shoved his way onto the field where the players were on the field getting together to celebrate. This allegedly involved him pushing aside the security team, which included the 66-year-old.

The charge could potentially hold a penalty of up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. In response to the grand jury indictment, the Eagles have released their own public statement confirming that they are aware of the situation and are still gathering information about its entirety, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

With a warrant out for Bennett's arrest, he will have to speak to a judge soon. The legal process is only just beginning, so he might not be found guilty. In the meantime, this is still a developing situation with more information likely to come out in the near future.
