Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles had quite the run through last year's playoffs and looked like a guy we had never seen before. He made throws he hadn't made earlier in his career, leading to talk about where he would be traded to be a starting quarterback somewhere else.
During the preseason, Foles hasn't looked like the same guy who won a Super Bowl. He hasn't even looked like a backup quarterback at times.
Foles knows he hasn't looked great and is not happy with how he has played, according to John Clark of NBC Philadelphia.
“There’s times when I feel good, and [times] I’m making some mistakes,” Foles said. “It’s as simple as that. I’ve just got to keep being critical of myself, keep watching the film, understand what’s going on and just keep playing. Keep pulling through. Obviously I haven’t been myself, and I expect a lot of myself. But I’ve got to keep looking at it, keep learning. I’ve played this game a long time. I know how to address this. Just keep moving forward, keeping that positive outlook.”
In two preseasons games, Foles has completed 16 of 26 passes for 171 yards and two interceptions. He also hasn't thrown a touchdown in the two games.
Carson Wentz is expected to be ready for the first week of the regular season, but if there are any setbacks it looks like the Eagles could be in some trouble. The Eagles finish up the preseason next week against the New York Jets.
