The Philadelphia Eagles are hosting a workout with cornerback Orlando Scandrick on Saturday, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

Scandrick, who also worked out for the Minnesota Vikings earlier this week, spent the 2018 campaign with the Kansas City Chiefs, playing in 15 games and registering 44 tackles, an interception, a forced fumble, and 13 passes defended.

The 32-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Boise State, was originally selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the fifth round (143rd pick overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft.

He spent his first five years with the Cowboys as a nickelback and developed into one of the most reliable nickels in the NFL, playing in all 16 games in each of his first three seasons.

Then, in 2013, Scandrick became a full-time starting cornerback, registering 64 tackles, a couple of sacks, a pair of interceptions, a forced fumble, and 12 passes defended that season.

From that point on, however, injuries began to take their toll on Scandrick, as he proceeded to play 14, 12, and 11 games, respectively, over his final three years in Dallas.

When he was on the field, he was still very productive, but Scandrick seemed to get more and more injury-prone as his time with the Cowboys passed.

As a result, Dallas cut Scandrick in March 2018, and he went on to sign with the Washington Redskins, who cut him in the middle of last August. The Chiefs then inked the veteran to a one-year deal.

The Eagles are in need of some help in their secondary and are coming off of a season in which they won nine games and upset the Chicago Bears in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs before falling to the New Orleans Saints in the Divisional Round a week later.
