Real Madrid is one of the greatest teams in the history of world sports. They've won 13 Champions League titles, over 30 Spanish league titles, and numerous other titles. Generally, they are one of the most recognizable sports brands in the world. Thus, they are always linked to the best players on the market.

Right now, the best two players on the market are Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland. Real Madrid would love to get their hands on both, but if only one was an option, they have a tough choice. Here are two reasons why Kylian Mbappe is better for Real Madrid than Erling Haaland.

Why Kylian Mbappe is better for Real Madrid than Erling Haaland

1. Love for the club

It's well-documented how much Kylian Mbappe adores Real Madrid. In a recent comic book about his life, Mbappe included a few parts in which he is seen wearing a Real Madrid shirt, as Marca reports. That is how much the Frenchman loves the club, and that love is the key reason Real Madrid should go for him. Haaland has been quieter about his favorite team, as he has remained focused on the teams he has played for.

Mbappe also reportedly pushed hard for a transfer this past summer. That saga was ongoing for a couple of months. Real Madrid wanted to pay a lot of money to get Mbappe, even though his contract with PSG expires next year. There were various reports about that whole situation, but most said that Mbappe was hellbent on joining the Spanish giant.

This transfer makes a lot of sense for Real Madrid for one main reason. With a lot of these clubs at the top, players come to play for their own fame and generous salaries. However, while Kylian Mbappe would surely want that as well, all signs point to the fact that he also shares the passion for the club with the fans of Real Madrid. It might sound irrelevant, but passion for the club is incredibly important. It is evident that whatever PSG did, even with the addition of Lionel Messi in the summer, Mbappe's mind was still on Real Madrid.

With a huge history of players that come to the Bernabeu and simply stop trying, Real Madrid would finally get a player ready to make the club as great as it was during the Cristiano Ronaldo era. It cannot be stated whether Mbappe is the ultimate piece for a return of that era, but he is definitely the biggest one. Real Madrid simply fits Mbappe, just as Kylian Mbappe fits Los Blancos.

2. Experience in huge games

Erling Haaland is about two years younger than Kylian Mbappe, but the difference in their experience is staggering. Firstly with Haaland, he has not played many huge games. In his club career, the furthest he has gone in the Champions League is the quarterfinals with Borussia Dortmund last season. In international football, he truly could not drag the lowly Norwegian side alone. Real Madrid plays games at the highest level and without experience, Haaland might find issues if he moves to Madrid.

Mbappe, on the other hand, is full of huge game experiences. In his second professional season with Monaco, Mbappe already played in the Champions League semifinals, in which he scored a Mbappe scored a goal, but it was not enough, as Juventus was too strong. In the same season, he won the French Ligue 1, beating out PSG. Of course, that is just one part of his experience, as he also won the 2018 FIFA World Cup with France. Additionally, he also played the Champions League final in 2020 with PSG. If Real Madrid wants an experienced player, they will go for Kylian Mbappe.

Of course, this is an unfair comparison in some aspects. Mbappe moved to PSG when he was 19 and was put into the fire right away. Haaland decided to slowly build his career and joined a Borussia Dortmund team that was far removed from Champions League finals and serious challenges for the title. Also, Mbappe is French, and Haaland is Norwegian, so there is a stark difference between the two sides. However, if Real Madrid seriously looks for experience in big moments, they will look past these circumstances.

There is a chance that both of these players go to Real Madrid, of course. It would be nothing out of the ordinary for one of the biggest clubs in world football, and their ambitious president Florentino Perez. However, if it comes down to one of these two, Real Madrid should really choose Mbappe. It is a match made in heaven, and it could be their path back to the absolute peak of their strength.
