One of the best shooters in NBA history, Kyle Korver has an enormous eagle tattoo that is etched on the left side of his body spanning from his rib cage to abdomen.

Not many people know about this secret tattoo, but thanks to ESPN reporter Dave McMenamin, we were able to get a little information about Korver's eagle tattoo.

When Korver played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, LeBron James called him “American Eagle” because of Korver's bald eagle tattoo:

“James bestowed upon Korver the nickname American Eagle, inspired by the intricate tattoo of a bald eagle he has etched on the left side of his body spanning from his rib cage to abdomen.”

Korver, who began his NBA career with the Philadelphia 76ers, currently plays for the Milwaukee Bucks. He has career regular-season averages of 9.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists with the Sixers, Utah Jazz, Chicago Bulls, Atlanta Hawks, Cavs and Bucks.

Korver has had two different stints with the Jazz. He wrote a powerful letter for The Players' Tribune last season talking about white privilege after a Jazz fan shouted racist comments at Russell Westbrook during a game in Salt Lake City.

Down in Orlando, Florida for the bubble games, Korver is wearing Black Lives Matter on the back of his jersey. The veteran shooting guard decided to wear that statement on the back of his Bucks jersey for a few reasons, per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports:

“Milwaukee Bucks sharpshooter Kyle Korver, who penned an essay acknowledging his white privilege in April, has made the decision to wear “Black Lives Matter” on the back of his jersey as his social justice statement, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

“Korver could choose from 27 other statement options or he could have elected to go with just his name.

“But Black Lives Matter is what he felt drawn to because of his commitment to be more socially conscious, the state of the world in the aftermath of George Floyd’s death and to be in solidarity with his teammates and people of color, sources said.”

An NBA championship is the last thing Korver needs on his basketball résumé. The 39-year-old could very well win his first title this season, as the Bucks have the best record in the NBA.

It will be interesting to see if Korver decides to get more tattoos on his body moving forward. Maybe if the Bucks win it all, the California native will get something inked on his body to celebrate the championship.
