Red Bull boss Christian Horner reveals his favorite F1 championship achieved by Red Bull Racing after Max Verstappen's controversial title victory over Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton.

Despite Mercedes' eighth straight constructor's championship, Toto Wolff and Hamilton remain devastated after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Hamilton maintained a significant lead over Verstappen with just a few laps to go until safety car laps occurred due to Nicholas Latifi's crash. In the end, Verstappen won the race with faster and fresher tyres, as Hamilton's gap evaporated thanks to other drivers overtaking the safety car before the cardiac final lap.

The last time Red Bull won a driver's championship was with Sebastian Vettel in 2013, and it seems that Horner is just happy to defeat the Mercedes-Hamilton dominance this season.

“Mercedes are such a quality team and they’ve got stronger and stronger over the years,” Horner said to Sky F1.

“And that’s what made this so intense, on-track, off-track, between the drivers, the pit crews, the strategy, the development, between Toto and I.

“And because of the quality of the opposition that we’ve had, that’s what makes this one so special, we’ve just never given up from the first race, Max has driven his heart out this year.

Many F1 fans will remember this season, especially the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, in years to come. Horner suggests that Verstappen's championship may be the most special of them all.

“For sure it’s right up there, this is probably the biggest championship that we’ve won.”

Moving forward, can Verstappen continue to challenge Hamilton for F1 titles in the coming years?
