The Atlanta Falcons are hoping to their first winning streak of the 2019 NFL season going against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Unfortunately, it appears they will be severely shorthanded on offense.

Running back Devonta Freeman and tight end Austin Hooper have been ruled out for Week 12, via ESPN's Field Yates:

Players already ruled out for Sunday include: Lions QB Matthew Stafford, Falcons RB Devonta Freeman & TE Austin Hooper, Browns TE David Njoku and DE Olivier Vernon, Giants TE Evan Engram and Cowboys LB Leighton Vander Esch.

The absence of Freeman and Hooper undoubtedly deals a crushing blow to the offense. Both players have taken on integral roles for Atlanta in the 2019 campaign. Their injuries leave a notable void in the rushing attack and the passing game.

Freeman was unable to take part in the dominant 29-3 win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 11 due to a foot injury. This resulted in running back Brian Hill getting the bulk of the work out of the backfield, however, he struggled to get anything going after averaging just two yards per carry. Regardless, Hill will likely get another chance to prove himself against the Bucs with Freeman out.

Meanwhile, Hooper was also sidelined last week while dealing with a knee injury. He was in the midst of a breakout season prior to sitting out and is hoping to be back by the time Atlanta hosts the New Orleans Saints on primetime in Week 13.

Despite not having to key pieces of their offense available, the Falcons still have good reason to be confident versus the Bucs considering how well they have played during their recent resurgence.
