The Atlanta Falcons will be without star wideout Julio Jones when they take on their NFC South arch-nemesis, the New Orleans Saints, on Thanksgiving, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The Falcons' official website explained that head coach Dan Quinn classified Jones' status on Wednesday as a ‘game-time decision.' However, the team ‘must not have felt confident' that his shoulder injury would be the right call to play with during game action.

Coach Dan Quinn said Wednesday that Jones would be a game-time decision, and the team must not have felt confident that his injured shoulder would hold up. Jones was listed among the Falcons' inactive players for the game. Jones caught three passes for 79 yards against the Saints in Week 10.

It was up in the air heading into game-day if Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore would be able to line up against Jones for this matchup. A showdown between an elite cornerback and receiver won't take place with Jones out, but Lattimore will be in the lineup and will be able to check whoever the Falcons try to feature as their top receiver.

With Jones sidelined, it will be a challenge for the Falcons to produce against the Saints. Atlanta will need Matt Ryan to step up and transcend not having his top receiving threat and it seems like an ideal opportunity for someone like Calvin Ridley to make a name for himself with millions of fans tuning in on Thanksgiving.
