Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Junes will be back in action this Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.

Jones has missed two games this year with a hamstring injury, including last weekend's loss to the Carolina Panthers. However, the former All-Pro wideout did not draw an injury designation, and is set to return to the field this weekend, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The 31-year-old had a huge start to the season, hauling in nine catches (on 12 targets) for 157 yards in Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks.

But it has been a struggle for Jones ever since, and the hamstring certainly has not helped matters. Jones had only four targets and just two receptions for 24 yards in a shootout loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2.

After missing Week 3, Jones got off to a good start against the Green Bay Packers in Week 4, grabbing all four of his targets for 32 yards. But he was ruled out for the remainder of the contest after the hamstring issue perked up yet again.

Nevertheless, the Falcons will be glad to have Jones back on the field as they look too get their first win of the season.

Atlanta has been unable to build any momentum. The Falcons dropped consecutive games against the Cowboys and Chicago Bears by blowing fourth-quarter leads, with the offense often stalling in the fourth quarter.

But the defense is far from blameless. Atlanta's secondary ranks 31st against opposing passing attacks with a young secondary and limited pass rush.

Former head coach Dan Quinn is gone, and the Falcons are ushering in a new era. Whether it leads to more success remains to be seen, but Jones returns at a good time against an inexperienced Vikings secondary.
