Recently released by Ubisoft, a free DLC mission for Far Cry 6 introduced a special crossover event featuring characters and lore from the show “Stranger Things” a popular horror mystery series on Netflix. In this update simply titled “The Vanishing“, players will have to explore a twisted and mutated version of Yara from Far Cry 6, which is now filled with demonic and nightmarish creatures from the Stranger Things series.

In this trailer, players are shown playing as Dani as she is tasked with finding out what happened to local Yarans that have been abducted throughout the city. Dani is seen visiting new locations such as hidden bunkers and abandoned laboratories, while armed with a new shotgun and flamethrower weapon as she attempts to fight off various kinds of enemies.

As players have already dived deep into the free mission, many fans have given the free mission update a fair amount of praise, stating that the content featured is very deep and enriched with a fair amount of Stranger Things lore for fans with a keen eye to spot and take in. Others have stated that this crossover was very unexpected but very welcomed, as their previous crossover event for Rambo also managed to strike a nice cord with players.
