The Final Fantasy Battle Royale game set in the same world as Sephiroth's will enter its CBT phase next month. Final Fantasy 7 The First Soldier opens its CBT registration today, May 7, 2021.

Final Fantasy 7 Battle Royale mobile game CBT registration opens today

Final Fantasy 7 The First Soldier appeared out of nowhere. The mobile game battle royale set in the Final Fantasy 7 universe surprised a lot of fans, receiving lukewarm reactions. It does look like a well-made, polished game. However, it feels a bit forced, as if Square Enix really just looked for an excuse to release a battle royale game.

Still, we shouldn't judge a game based on its cover (art). If the game plays well, then why not, right? So far, it looks like it adds a lot of good new mechanics to your regular battle royale game. Each player has access to your regular weapons, typical of battle royales. However, it also seems like players can choose their magic loadout, casting them during battle. Interestingly, Square Enix even found a way to incorporate Summoning Espers as a mechanic.

Currently, Final Fantasy 7 The First Soldier only accepts registration from US and Canada users. The recruitment period will be between May 7 to May 27, 2021. The Final Fantasy 7 The First Soldier CBT Release Date will be on June 1, 2021. Then, the CBT period will run its course until June 7, 2021. Players can register on the game's CBT website.
