Undefeated and all-time great boxer Floyd Mayweather intends to defeat MMA superstar Conor McGregor in a boxing match a little over two weeks from now. As for his long term plans, it includes buying his own NBA franchise.

Asked by ESPN if he's into fantasy football, Mayweather replied that while he's not into it, he's into gambling and plans to stop doing so once he secures an NBA team.

Told to expand on what he said, Mayweather implied that the only real cure to his gambling is owning an NBA team.

“You can't bet when you own an NBA team so I look forward to getting an NBA team in the future. So once I get an NBA team, I'm going to no longer bet.”

As to which team he's eyeing to buy or which city he's considering to set up an NBA franchise in, Mayweather says he doesn't have a definite plan as of yet.

I don't know where the team is going to be, but I look forward to having a team someday.”

According to Forbes, Mayweather has a net worth of $340 million. While that's a load of money, it still wouldn't be enough to purchase an NBA team. The cheapest NBA team right now, per Forbes, is the New Orleans Pelicans, which are valued at $750 million. According to
