Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is set to make his official transition the broadcast booth this upcoming season with CBS alongside Jim Nantz and sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson.

According to a press release from CBS, the 37-year-old will get his first regular-season action in his post-NFL career in the first week of the 2017 season.

The quarterback-turned-broadcaster will make his debut as an analyst with CBS in its Week 1 broadcast of the Oakland Raiders versus the Tennessee Titans, the station announced on Tuesday.

This will immediately throw Romo in the fire from the get-go to start his broadcast career with an intriguing matchup between two potential playoff teams. It's going to be his first big test to see if he has adjusted to the manner in which games are called by broadcast teams. There is certainly a lot riding on him given that CBS has given him this in-demand job without having any previous experience covering games.

CBS has announced his schedule for the first four weeks of the season with his Week 2 assignment will be the New England Patriots taking on the New Orleans Saints. It will be followed in Week 3 with a matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and Green Bay Packers, and the Week 4 game will feature the Oakland Raiders facing the Denver Broncos.

Romo is set to make his broadcast debut in Week 3 of the preseason with a meeting between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Seattle Seahawks.
