Over the last several months, the video game Fortnite has become one of the hottest crazes in the industry that has reached the sports world with many professional athletes partaking in the action.

Pittsburgh Steelers budding star WR JuJu Smith-Schuster has hopped aboard to play alongside three-time Grammy winning rapper Drake after he posted on social media that he was playing with eSports legend Tyler “Ninja” Blevins. All of this eventually led to rapper Travis Scott joining the frenzy to help them break the all-time Twitch record for most real-time streaming viewers.

The number of viewers for the stream has jumped to over 600,000 concurrent viewers, which blows away the previous high of 400,000 for an individual stream. The views have already reached nearly 90 million over the last few hours since it went live. According to Polygon.com, the all-time Twitch record is currently held by Eleague Major: Boston 2018, which had over 1.1 million concurrent viewers.

Like Drake, Smith-Schuster is an avid gamer and that he revealed during the stream that he has played the game on many nights in the studio. There have been many hilarious moments throughout the stream with that saw subscribers comment “GODS PLAN” when the Toronto-based rapper died and was saved by Ninja on the way to a win.

Ninja also asked Drake about pineapples on his pizza, and looks like Drake is a fan:

This also saw other rappers chime in such as Logic, who wanted to get in on the live action.

Since the game popped on the scene last July, it was seen a quick rise in popularity over the last several months as one of the most popular games in the eSports community. That said, it's not too often where these many high-profile people join forces to play a game like this in the wee hours of the night (in the US).
