Rodney Hood is one of the better small forwards still available on the free agent market. Earlier reports stated that the Sacramento Kings were interested in the 25-year-old swingman. Now it appears that the Bulls and the Cavaliers are also in the hunt, according to Jordan Schultz of Yahoo Sports.

Hood is a restricted free agent and the Cavs can still match any offer sheet given to Hood.

The small forward had his ups and downs in Cleveland last season, but he showed some promise during the playoffs. Hood's scoring average dropped from 16.8 to 10.8 after he was traded from Utah to Cleveland midseason. He fell out of Cleveland's rotation and never seemed to be fully comfortable on the Cavs.

But in the NBA Finals, Hood was given an opportunity, and he showed up. After playing in garbage time minutes in Game 1 and Game 2 of the Finals, Ty Lue needed to make a change. Hood was reinserted into the rotation and scored in double figures in Game 3 and Game 4.

Despite some tumult in Cleveland, Hood is still a gifted scorer that can bring offense to any of these three teams that will desperately need it next season. Hood shot 38 percent from three on 5.6 attempts per game last season. A proven three-point shooter can always improve a team.

This three-team race for Hood may come down to who is willing to shell out the most money for him, and ultimately whether or not Cleveland is willing to match the other offers that come his way.
