Far Cry 3‘s cyber neon B-movie-inspired spin-off Blood Dragon gets a Classic Edition, now out on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon was an 80s-inspired retro-futuristic open-world in which Earth has been ravaged by a nuclear war. It has very little to do with Far Cry 3, and in this game, you play as Sergeant Rex Colt, a state-of-the-art Cyborg. The best part about this game is you get a dedicated button to give anyone the middle finger.

You get to fight rampaging killer cyborgs, mutated scientists, metal sharks, and vicious Blood Dragons that shoot lasers from their eyes. Yup, very far off from your regular Far Cry game, and to that, we say that this one is so much better than the original concept.

Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon Classic Edition is available for purchase as a stand-alone product. Meanwhile, those who have the Far Cry 6 Season Pass can also just grab this for free. PC owners of Far Cry 6‘s season pass won't get the remastered Classic Edition but will get the original 2013 version of the game instead.

Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon was very popular, thanks to its very self-aware humor and retro-futuristic aesthetic. Its popularity has led to a spin-off (yes, a spin-off of a spin-off), Trials of the Blood Dragon, released in 2016. Netflix is also currently producing an animation series based on the game called Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix.
