Epic Games might be thinking about creating an entertainment division that revolves around scripted video programming. What better way to kick off the new division than to create a movie based on the Fortnite cinematic universe. 

Discussions about a Fortnite film have been circulating in Epic’s HQ since earlier this year according to The Information. Now that Epic has an entertainment division, the company hired a team that used to be executives for Lucasfilm.

However, despite these rumors, Epic representatives do away from making statements about the film. It’s not impossible that a Fortnite movie would come to fruition in the near future. Fortnite has already made appearances on the big screen in movies such as Space Jam and Ready Player One. Plus it’s undeniable that Fortnite appeals to the general audience catering to kids and adults alike. Under these circumstances, ticket sales definitely wouldn’t be a problem for Epic Games. 

During Fortnite BR‘s early days, the game didn’t necessarily have a storyline. It was just another battle royale game that came out during the peak of the BR genre. Eventually, Epic Games lowkey started adding map changes which seemed like an ordinary move to players. Little did we know that these map changes actually led to Fortnite’s massive and chaotic storyline that we have today. With all of the cinematic scenes that Fortnite has these days, the game technically has its own cinematic universe. Because of this, it makes sense to come up with their very own Fortnite movie at this point.
