Inazuma is coming soon, along with a completely new storyline taking place far from our usual Mondstadt and Liyue. Three new playable characters will be arriving in Genshin Impact Version 2.0: Kamisato Ayaka, Yoimiya, and Sayu. However, miHoYo also introduced a whole new cast of key characters who will take part in the new story quests. These characters may also soon be playable in subsequent updates.

In this article, let’s take a look at three important characters revealed during the Genshin Impact 2.0 Special Program: Baal, Thoma, and Sara.

The Electro Archon Baal – Genshin Impact‘s God of Eternity

Baal, also known as the Raiden Shogun, is the Electro Archon who oversees Inazuma. Similar to Venti and Zhongli, she is one of The Seven – gods who rule over territories within Teyvat. Unlike Venti and Zhongli, however, who let their own people govern their territories, Baal is a strict ruler who has near-absolute command over the people of Inazuma.

Baal is a cold and stern character, possessing very immense ideals as a ruler. She believes that “eternity” is the be-all and end-all, and sees Visions as the key to reaching such divinity. Baal hunts down every Vision holder in Inazuma, dealing punishments for those who refuse to give them up. As a result of this, no new Electro Vision has been bestowed to anyone for quite a long time. This has also been apparent due to the fact that miHoYo has not released a single new Electro character since the game launched.

The ensuing interaction between Baal and the Traveler will be a key driving force for the upcoming Archon Quests, so more information will be available once the new Genshin Impact version arrives.

Thoma – Chief Retainer of the Kamisato Clan

Another new character is Thoma, chief retainer of the Kamisato Clan. His blonde hair alone sets him apart from the other Inazuma characters – representing his mysterious identity. He knows the Kamisato siblings quite well and has a certain level of association with them. Thoma is said to be very observant of people he interacts with and is also a mature companion of sorts.

Nothing else has been said about Thoma, or what kind of Vision he possesses, so we’ll only know more once we finally meet him in the new Genshin Impact story quests.

Kujou Sara – loyal follower of the Raiden Shogun

The next one we have is Kujou Sara, one of the most prominent characters among the Inazuma Tri-commission. She is the adopted daughter of the Kujou Clan of the Tenryou Commission, as well as its general, serving under Baal’s forces. Sara is said to be a very charismatic leader, making her a very capable figure among the ones in power over the region.

Sara is an impressively strong warrior which even Kazuha admires, although she uses such strength to support Baal’s menacing hunt towards those who own a Vision. It has been revealed in Kazuha’s profile notes, that a friend of his has lost his precious Vision after losing a duel against Sara, in which Kazuha was too late to save him from demise. But even Kazuha wonders why Kujou Sara,  someone of such caliber and quality, would support the oppressive misdeeds of their ruler.

Kujou Sara looks to possess an Electro Vision, which she dons on a ribbon attached to her belt. It is unknown yet what kind of gameplay we can expect from her, so all we can do is wait for now.

These three characters are set to appear in the upcoming story quests, but it’s unconfirmed yet on when they’ll appear to be playable in Genshin Impact if ever they will be in the future.
