LEC Spring 2022 Playoffs: Teams, Bracket, and Results

With the conclusion of League of Legends European Championship (LEC) Spring 2022 Week 8, and therefore the Group Stage, the six teams who locked in playoffs are now confirmed. These teams will go through a double elimination bracket wherein the winner qualifies for the Mid Season Invitational 2022. All matches in the playoffs are Best of 5. This rivalry as old as time was much awaited by fans of each team. Before this series, their all time head to head in LEC Playoffs were FNC 15 – 22 G2.

In the end, the Fnatic squad adds 3 more wins against G2 and move on to face Rogue in the Winner's Finals. G2 moves down to the Losers' Bracket.

Excel Esports, in the organization's first playoffs ever, face the Team Vitality “superteam” in the Losers' Bracket. For a little bit, Excel looked hopeful to take down the favorites, but Vitality still emerged as the winners.

Though the result is Vitality favored, many would agree that this superteam is performing a lot weaker than what was expected.

Many times were Team Vitality in a position to win a game, and for all three games of the series, the early game was mostly commanded by them. However, come mid-game, the team looked disjointed instead of acting as as team. G2 manage to clinch a couple games from behind and punish Vitality, clean sweeping their opponents for a quick 3-0.

Team Vitality are knocked out of Playoffs, while G2 face Misfits Gaming in the Losers' Round 3.

Fnatic looked a cut above their opponents for the first two games, but Rogue mount a win in game 3 that would be the beginning of an exhilarating reverse sweep.

In an amazing coincidence, Game 5 of this series was also the 2,500th game of LEC, all-time.

Rogue proved resilient throughout the series, and move on to the Grand Finals. Fnatic moves down to the Losers' Finals as a safety net, looking for a chance to fight Rogue again.

This series was a great show of strength from the G2 squad. Even though at some points Misfits showed some push back, G2 still came up on top. The G2 bot laner Victor “Flakked” Lirola did not receive a single death this series, with a KDA of 19/0/20 by the end of their 3-0 win.

G2 move on to face long-time rivals Fnatic in the Losers' Finals.

G2 Esports ride their momentum from last week and take over their rivals in Fnatic. G2's rookie bot lane duo also showed up in these series, and proved to be better than their Fnatic counterparts. Overall, G2 looked like the better team, individually and in team play.

Nevertheless, it was still a hype series for fans of both teams.

G2 Esports will face Rogue in the Grand Finals.

G2 Esports are once again in the Grand Final, a situation all too familiar for the organization, but not to some of its players. With G2's rookie bot duo, fans were expecting a much closer series.

Unfortunately, Rogue once again finish 2nd place, and G2 are named the LEC Spring 2022 Champions. G2 Esports will represent the LEC in this May's Mid-Season Invitational.
